5 Key Steps to Self Trust

One of the biggest casualties with heartbreak and disappointment in our struggle is not just the loss of trust with other people but the loss of self-trust” – Brene Brown

Self-Trust

What does it mean to trust yourself and why is it important? How do I gain self-trust?

In a healthy family environment, children naturally trust themselves implicitly and for the most part, no matter what your family dynamic may be, children will just follow the path that brings them the most joy in each moment.

Children who grow up in abusive environments, whether its emotional, physical or mental abuse, will create a separation from the self to protect themselves. To survive they may become a people pleaser or take on other various forms of manipulative behavior. No matter what your childhood experience was, our social conditioning sets us up to question ourselves.

We listen to our peers and their suggestions of what is cool and what we should like or dislike. We rely on outside influences such as our government, our religious leaders, our friends, and our family to help us identify what is right and wrong, what we should eat, and how we should live. Before we know it, we have no idea what our own personal truth is.

As adults, we are told to trust our gut or to follow our instinct. But when we have spent our formative years turning down the volume of our inner voice, how can we begin to trust ourselves?

“As soon as you trust yourself, you will know how to live…” – Goethe

Self-trust is the foundation for living a JOYFUL and PEACEFUL life as you are in alignment with your personal POWER and INTEGRITY.

When we trust ourselves, we will automatically say YES to what is congruent with our personal values and we will take the necessary action steps to support ourselves.

I recently found myself in a situation that would have challenged me to my core based on social conditioning and family programming, but in the last few years of releasing WHO I AM NOT, I was able to TRUST myself explicitly as I took the action steps to support and LOVE MYSELF without even an ounce of self-doubt. It was a liberating experience to TRUST myself in this way.

There are times in our lives when an event so transformative takes place, it zings  us back to every experience that we have had, and a NEWawareness of the experience takes hold. The stories of the past transform and LOVE leads the way and provides our foundation when we release the people or situations in our lives that are no longer a match to our true authentic self.

Here is a list of what I did to create a level of self-trust that was unwavering for me…

5 key steps to Self-Trust

1- Stop seeking the opinions of others and recognize the guidance within you. Get to know yourself, your likes your dislikes and accept yourself just as you are. When you can LOVE what is, in this NOW moment, you then have the power to make the changes necessary to support what you want to change in YOU.

2- Develop self-trust by honoring your emotions instead of hiding behind them. As you honor your feelings, you develop trust in your capacity to deal with what arises. This is another way to LOVE what is, including our positive aspects and shadow.

Divine Messanger3- Follow your sacred wisdom instead of looking outside yourself to provide inner peace. You have ALL you need within to make the choices that support YOU. Spend time alone, get know yourself. When in doubt, get into nature, the answer to any question can be found in nature.

4- Know your YES and know your NO. Being clear with yourself and others about your boundaries  becomes the foundation for your personal truth. When you say ‘yes’ to something that is a ‘no’ you are no longer congruent with who you are, you give away your POWER, and you will no longer TRUST yourself. This is how you end up analyzing, questioning and second guessing yourself.

5- Take the ACTION steps to follow through. If it’s a NO say NO. Self-Trust is knowing that you WILL do the thing that is most congruent with YOU.

Self-Trust is your internal GPS system, you know where to go next, you trust your decisions both big and small and you’re willing to take risks. You no longer fear failure or making mistakes because your sense of self isn’t externally derived.

The collective whole – what is going on…

We have made it through some BIG energy shifts this year and it has been a journey to say the least. It’s time to OWN your personal power and step into your True Authentic Self.

The recent cosmic shifts have stirred our internal energy, causing old emotions and feelings to rise to the surface to be cleansed and TRANSMUTED.

It’s time to reflect and reorient yourself with what is truly important. Are you willing to let go of old attachments that no longer nurture you? Old habits can be hard to break, and fear of the unknown can keep us stuck and not willing to move forward. We are ALL being called to action.

Over the last three years I have had to let go and let the DIVINE step in; I will be the first to say that this is one of the most challenging experiences we go through. But NOW I know that the Divine and I are ONE and my limited EGO mind could not possibly know ALL the ways that magic can show up for me. It is a LEAP OF FAITH and when you jump off the cliff into the unknown… that is when the REAL MAGIC happens.

SunflowerAs we step into Self-Trust we step onto the path of moving forward. We are now in the portal of breaking through past wounds, limited beliefs, obstacles and fears. It’s out with the old, in with the new as we become inspired by new ideas to reform our lives.

The New Year will bring a forward momentum to support us on our journey as the Gateway Portal to Divine Union is OPEN. Our souls are craving Divine Partnership but we must partner with ourselves first!

December will have a different energy as we can feel the flow of forward movement in our lives. What has been on hold will start to gain momentum. Enjoy the shift.
