Three Key Steps To Letting Go

Healing from Toxic Relationships

"We must let go of the life we have planned, so as to accept the one that is waiting for us" -

Joseph Campbell

The Art of Letting Go

What is the benefit of letting go? How can letting go support you in your life?

"If it's flowing keep it going, if it's stuck give it up" - Ellen White

For centuries, spiritual leaders have been telling us to LET GO, to try not to force, push or make things happen. Let it go, let life flow, be open. Yet our social conditioning has taught us to do the opposite. If something happens, we need to be on it, problem solving, fighting, pushing and resolving. It goes without saying that letting go and adhering to these socially entrenched norms are in direct opposition to one another.

“Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck”

- Dalai Lama

Anytime something happens that we don’t like we try to do something to change or control it. This creates an energy imbalance within us as we are now operating from a place of resistance. There are so many moving parts to blocks. When we understand this, we move closer to accepting that the universe is always working on our behalf. Learning to TRUST the Divine plan can be challenging and rewarding. Blocks can show up when there is more to learn from a situation or to help you grow in a more expansive way. Sometimes a block is there when not ALL parties involved are ready to move forward. There are also blocks when there is something BETTER on its way. In order to know how to best proceed forward, you must get clear on your OWN patterns. What have you always done in the past? How can you do it differently this time? What is this situation teaching you? This is where the magic lives. We all have our own lessons and initiations to go through, so the way to handle the situation will vary from person to person.  Hint – Our lessons are usually hidden from view… look for patterns. What is repetitive?

“Just let go. Let go of how you thought your life should be, and embrace the life that is trying to work its way into your consciousness”

– Carolyn Myss

3 Key Steps to Letting Go

#1 Take a Leap of Faith

When you’ve been hurt before, whether in a relationship, a friendship, or a job, it’s easy to avoid similar situations to prevent yourself from getting hurt again. Fear stops us from living a full life and prevents us from reaching our full potential as we avoid opportunities in order to remain safe. We worry that our suffering will repeat itself and so we avoid taking chances.

“Feel the fear and do it anyway” – Susan Jeffers

A leap of faith is necessary if we hope to push our own boundaries and discover what life has to offer beyond the routine of a life half lived. Wisdom comes from experience and taking our past into consideration when making calculated choices. The art of letting go turns fear into intention. It gets us out of our own head. LEAP, as it could be your greatest decision you ever make!

#2 Live in the Moment

Focusing on the past or anticipating the future distracts us from what is right in front of us. It is important to reflect on what we have been through so that it can contribute to what we do next;  it is always necessary to have some forward planning to guide our life’s path. However, all you have is this NOW moment.  Letting go requires us to be mindful about the present; to enjoy each day and each moment as it happens by quieting the noise in our minds long enough to open our intuition. By being in the NOW moment, you recognize ALL the wonderful ways that life supports you. If something is blocked, get into the NOW and spend time enjoying all the other gifts that surround you, soon you will see what the block was all about.

#3 Trust

Letting go is all about trust — trusting your own decisions and instincts about what is best for you. When you have created the foundation of self-trust and learned to listen to that small still voice within, letting go becomes second nature. The hardest thing to do is to surrender control in life. We all want to hold on tightly and steer our destiny in the direction we desire. We like to think that we determine what happens to us and that the outcome of our life’s challenges is our responsibility alone. Letting go feels like losing control, but it isn’t. It is actually assuming complete control by allowing the Divine plan to be a part of your journey and that is the key to a happy and healthy life.

I designed a supportive program that you can do at home on your own time that will assist you in integrating what is hidden and beneath the surface.

The Divine Soul Integration – The Divine Union Energy Healing Session, is intended to reprogram your subconscious limited beliefs and align you with your OWN POWER. This program will support you in living life from your truth. This is very effective and powerful energy healing that, with your free will, will set you up for creating change in your life so you can live the life you were born to live!

"Ritual for Calming and Centering Yourself"

What you will need:

  • Smudging tool to clear your space (Sage, Palo Santo, Copal)
  • One Candle (preferably white)
  • Handful of Leaves or flowers (dried or fresh)
  • 1 Piece of Paper and a Pen

Begin by smudging your body and surroundings using the mantras below.

It is my intention to cleanse away the struggles of my past, I AM cleansing and opening my heart. My heart is now open and I AM aligned. My heart is now open and I AM aligned.

As you smudge your surroundings say the following-

It is my intention to cleanse this space with light and loving energy. My space is filled with positive energy. It is safe for me to call this space home. My home is cleansed and I am renewed.

Next, light your candle and place it on the floor or on a table in front of you. Take your piece of paper and draw either a triangle, circle or heart on it. Choose whichever symbol speaks to you the most. Take your leaves or flowers and place them around the paper and take a deep breath to settle yourself. Place your hands over your heart center and say,

Now take one of the flowers/leaves in your left hand with palm facing up. Look at the leaf/flower and repeat the following three times-

The energy of mother earth guides me as to what I need to release.

Take your hands in prayer position so the leaf/flower is wedged between both hands. Close your eyes and breathe deeply.  Still holding your leaf/flower, stand up and shake out your body. As you shake imagine you are releasing and letting go of anxiety, frustrations, and/or pain. Just stand up and shake it all out. Keep shaking and moving your body until you feel released and cleansed. Trust that mother earth is helping you to release whatever it is that needs to get out of your body.

Rituals are powerful tools we can use to move energy blocks and keep us aligned with the DIVINE.

Remember to stay out of self-judgement as you reflect on what you could have done differently or should not have done at all. The beauty of this month is that it provides perfect timing for us to focus on our lives in a way that moves us through the blocks and into the current of what will better support us going forward. The month also provides a perfect opportunity to heal.

Invocation for the week

Thank you Divine for always guiding me to SEE clearly what I may be doing that keeps me stuck in the past. Thank you for illuminating my path forward with love and grace as I take a leap of faith to heal my past and create a new life of LOVE. And so it is. Thank you.

Thank you. Bye for now.
